FLYING BOX RANCH

HORSE TRAINING
LESSONS & CLINICS

I think the reason God gave us cattle was to make nice horses. A working ranch is the best facility to train horse’s and help teach them not just to move athletically and be soft and responsive, but gives them a reason to understand the importance of those skills.

To work cattle.

I run our ranch horseback for most everything. Cattle are moved and sorted horseback. We rope to brand and doctor everything horseback as it’s the most efficient, as well as the perfect opportunity to train horses. When your able to train a horse while working cattle, it helps them to understand why your asking them to be soft and move athletically, they start to put the whole picture together, listen to your ques better and especially for more cow bred horses, they like to beat the cattle so they have fun in the process too!.

Welcome to Flying Box Ranch, a third-generation ranching family, that raises all natural Angus beef cattle in Washington’s fertile Kittitas Valley. Caring for these animals is the family tradition, one that’s been handed down and improved upon, both through experience as well as education, from generation to generation. The Hendersons - Lynn and wife Linda, together with son Bryce - have committed their lives to being a part of the less than 1% of the U.S. population that raises the food that feeds the people.
